Think about all those times you skipped an exercise session, ate too much for dinner, or raided the fridge for a late-night snack.
You had to think about these things before actually doing them, right?
You thought about how tasty that ice-cream was. Or how you felt too lazy or tired to work out. Or how you’ll never be slim, so you might as well enjoy that extra helping of fries. Your thoughts were the culprit – and your mind created those thoughts. Which is why…
In the battle of the bulge, your mind can be your greatest ally, or your worst enemy.
All your actions in life first come from your thoughts and beliefs. What you think and believe translates into a specific set of related emotions, which in turn leads to specific actions.
If you’re familiar with the Law of Attraction, you’ll know that all forms of energy will attract other energy vibrating at a similar frequency. And so if your mind is consumed with negative thoughts like “I look so fat” or “I’m too lazy to ever lose weight”, guess what? You’re much more likely to do things that reinforce those thoughts.
On the flipside, positive thoughts lead to positive outcomes. If you’re happy and confident, you’ll find it a whole lot easier to stick to that dietary plan or follow that exercise routine.I’m sure you see what I’m getting at here, right?
If you want to lose weight, you must learn to control your thoughts.
Most of us don’t realize just how powerful our thoughts can be. Now to prove it, let me show you one of the most fascinating (and bizarre) studies I’ve ever seen.
Dr. Masaru Emoto, a Japanese scientist, found that humans are capable of manipulating the composition of molecules in water. He did this by taking water and exposing it to different objects and environments. He projected a thought onto a glass of water, or put the water next to a specific object. The water was then frozen, and the resulting water crystals were observed under a microscope.
Incredibly, when a glass of water had a piece of paper with a positive message like “love” stuck to it, the water crystals formed beautiful patterns that were pure in color and in perfect symmetry.
On the other hand, when a glass of water had a piece of paper with a negative message like “anger” stuck to it, the water crystals were rough, dull and in a state of disarray.
Now think about this – 75% of your body is water. And if human thoughts can so dramatically influence water crystals, imagine the impact they could have on your body and your actions!
Now that you understand just how powerful your thoughts can be, let’s move on to the most important part of lesson 1:
How to think your way to a slim and sexy body?
The key to mastering your thoughts is to reprogram your subconscious mind – the part of your mind that makes decisions on autopilot.
Remember the last time you had a sudden urge to eat a certain type of food, or an impulse to go out and exercise? That was your subconscious mind at work.
One of the most powerful tools for reprogramming your subconscious mind so that it makes better decisions is VISUALIZATION.
Visualization is the scientifically proven practice of imagining specific scenarios, emotions and outcomes that are in line with what you want to accomplish (for example you could visualize yourself in a bikini by the beach, flaunting your washboard abs).
When you visualize, you’re training your subconscious mind to turn this vision into reality.
By using the power of your imagination, you’ll forever change the way you feel about your body, food and exercising.
